What to eat in Melbourne

M E L B O U R N E | O C T O B E R 2019

Pastries

1.  Brunetti in CBD

Brunetti Melbourne

2. Croissant - Agathé Pâtisserie

Located in South Melbourne Market, these were hands down, the best croissant I had.
There are other famous ones but I didn't pass by those.

Ice Creams / Gelatos

1. Pidapido @ CBD
One of the best gelatos I've had <3

Named after a traditional Italian game the founders played with their nonoo when they were growing up. The founder, Lisa Valmorbida went to a gelato university (Carpigiani Gelato University in Bologna) where she learnt that Italian gelato commandments that Pidapido lives by are :

1. All gelato must be made from scratch on site.
2. Small batches only. There is no good gelato without great ingredients.
3. Fruit is fresh, never frozen with no artificial flavouring, ever.
4. All recipes must be precisely calibrated to create uniform creamy texture and intensity of flavour.

2. Golden Gaytime from Coles
You have to try this. Cheap and good.

3. Mubble

Ramen @ Hakata Gensuke

Gensuke is specialized in pork bone noodle soup and dipping noodle also known as Tonkotsu Ramen and Tsukemen. Gensuke tonkotsu is prepared using “Yobimodoshi” (master stock) method to ensure a flavorful soup virtually only found in Japan’s best ramen dining experiences.

Coffee

Melbourne is famous for their coffee scene.
So just walk into any coffee place / cafe and you'll get a good cup.

Pho @ Chu The, Richmond, Victoria

Melbourne has really fresh good produce, making the soup broth wonderful!
Make sure you try this as many say they have the best Pho in Australia.

Italian Food @ Pellegrinis Bar

Located at Burke Street, this place is described as one of Melbourne's iconic destination. It was established in 1954 by two Italian migrant brothers. This bar is claimed to be the first in Melbourne to use an espresso machine.

Fresh Oysters

The ones I had were from South Melbourne Market and gosh they were so fresh! Just add some lemon and Tabasco sauce and you're good to go.

Meat

1. Red Gum BBQ

The most authentic Southern American BBQ in Australia on Mornington Peninsula. Don’t miss the beef ribs, pulled pork, chicken wings, cornbread.

2. Hofbräuhaus

Fish and Chips @ Tides of Rhyll

Easily the best fish & chips I had.

Soup Noodles @ Tina's Noodle Kitchen

This place serves authentic Sichuan Dishes and the Spicy Beef Noodle and Sour Pickled Vegetables Noodles was so favorable. Portion was a little big for us.

Till next time!
I'll be back here again for more food.
(Once borders are reopened and hopefully this whole pandemic would be over as soon as possible).
